The 2016 250/350 xcf and sxf have the lower capacity as they run smaller cases. 2017 250/350 excf is now the same and runs the slightly lower oil capacity. 1l is your total capacity including filter as per the manual above.

The correct oil to use is Magura "Blood" Hydraulic Mineral Oil. It's $2.95 per small bottle. I've also heard you can use 5wt fork fluid or automatic trans fluid. We use the Magura "Blood" though. Our bottles (small & large) say bio hydraulic oil.
